- The volume slider only went to a low setting, there was no off setting
- at the extreme left. This is possibly due to the fact that my modem is
- a generic 28,800. I did receive information which did the trick and
- this is an extract from the response

- GOTO CONTROL
- PANEL-MODEMS-PROPERTIES-CONNECTIONS-ADVANCED AND ENTER M0 (M AND ZERO)
- IN
- THE EXTRA SETTINGS BOX YOUR MODEM SHOULD STAY SILENT.
